Raised and more powerful engines, the AN32 boast additional power than An26. With a higher takeoff weight and STOL capabilities, it offers versatile solutions to the most challenging environments within South Sudan.

The An-72 has STOL capabilities: its take-off roll is 620 metres and its landing run is 420 metres. This aircraft was designed to be used on unprepared surfaces: its robust undercarriage and high-flotation tires allow operations on sand, grass or other unpaved surfaces. This has a capacity of 10 tonnes.

The Ilyushin Il-76 is a multi-purpose four-engine turbofan strategic designed by the Soviet Union’s Ilyushin design bureau. It was designed to deliver heavy machinery to remote, poorly served areas. The Il-76 has seen extensive service as a commercial freighter for ramp-delivered cargo, especially for outsized or heavy items unable to be otherwise carried. It has also been used as an emergency response transport for civilian evacuations as well as for humanitarian aid and disaster relief around the world. Because of its ability to operate from unpaved runways, it has been useful in undeveloped areas. In South Sudan it only lands in four areas, Palouch, Malakal, Wau and Juba
